I find breeding new dahlia varieties from seed one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Dahlia genetics are so complex, that seedlings are not the same as the plant that you gather the seed from. Each seed holds the potential for a never-before-seen bloom. It's a thrilling mix of art, science, and a dash of magic. Watching these beauties unfurl is pure joy, and here's your chance to get in on that joy!
These are sold as packs of 4 sturdy seedling plants growing in potting mix in 5-7cm pots.
The photos above are an indication only. They are blooms from some of the plants I have grown from seed in previous seasons. Expect to see some flowers with a single layer of petals, as this is a dominant genetic trait. I have not sold any seed this year, so this is your only opportunity to have a go at growing seedlings from Unfurlings Flowers this season.

Seed has been collected from plants growing in my cut flower collection. Each plant will bloom this season and form tubers so that you can keep the tubers and grow them again.

Packaging: We wrap the plants securely in cardboard collars inside cardboard shipping cartons to stop them moving around in the box. Our shipping cartons hold 4 plants, but we can tape up to 3 cartons together. If you order 4 plant packs (16 plants), they will be shipped together in one larger carton with collars inside to keep everything securely in place. We ship Mon-Wed so that your plants don't spend too long in transit over the weekend period.
