Shop Dahlia Tubers

Welcome to the dahlia tuber catalogue!

Every variety here has been grown, photographed, carefully labelled and divided by us.

Take note of the plant height and flower size descriptions.

For cut flower growers, taller plants have better stem length for cut flowers, but you can also get longer stems by cutting deeply in to the plant and/or 'disbudding' (taking off side buds). Generally tighter, smaller blooms last longer as cut flowers, but the larger ones can be show stoppers in grand-scale but short-lived arrangements.

All dahlias are supplied as single tubers or occasionally a small clump ready to find a home in your garden.

They can be planted now or very soon in most parts of the country.

Choose a well drained spot that gets plenty of sunlight. A bit of compost worked into the soil will give them a good start. They don't need much water untill the green shoots start to get going, but during hot weather, they like a good soak at least twice a week. Watch out for slugs and snails who love the tender early growth. Taller plants benefit from some kind of staking or support once they grow, so get that in the ground at planting time, so you don't accidentally spike through a tuber later on!  You'll be rewarded with lots of blooms and even a small tuber will form a tuber clump by the end of the season.

We only ship to New Zealand adresses and all prices are in New Zealand Dollars.
