Workshop: Mastering Dahlia Cultivation

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the popularity of growing dahlias. I wonder if you have also been caught up in dahlia mania?

They are a high-value cut flower and are prized by florists for their vibrant colours and unique shapes. They also give a huge show in the home garden. One small tuber produces a sizable plant which can provide a wonderful display for several months.

However, growing dahlias can be a bit tricky and requires some effort and attention. Unfurlings Flowers has teamed up with Camdene Gardens to help you out. We’re here to give you a comprehensive overview of the skills needed to grow dahlias successfully throughout the seasons.

Join us for a practical and informative workshop which will cover:

• Preparing your patch and planting out

• How to get maximum flowers from your plants

• Pest and disease management strategies

• Increasing your plants through dividing or taking cuttings

• Breeding new dahlia varieties

This is a unique opportunity to learn from two local dahlia growers and to experience the stunning beauty of dahlias en masse in a cut flower farm setting.

You will also get to:

• Meet some other friendly plant people

• Have a lovely lunch in a garden setting

• Harvest and take home a bucket (provided) of beautiful blooms from Nikki’s incredible dahlia collection

• Take home a booklet of information on mastering dahlia cultivation
