Height: 60-90cm
Spacing: 30cm
Bloom period: December-March. Deep burgundy foliage and a spike of tubular white flowers flushed with lavender. I find once the lower flowers on each stem have been pollinated, they tend to brown and drop off, so using them as fresh cut flowers would mean picking off some tired blooms from each stem. However, it is a glorious plant in the garden (I LOVE burgundy foliage!) It also has attractive, glossy, burgundy seedpods which can be used fresh or dried in flower arrangements for some fun texture.
It can be propagated easily by division.
Supplied in August as dormant bare-rooted plant divisions with a little soil/sawdust and wrapped in moist paper. Plant straight away in warmer climates, or pot up in a sheltered spot (e.g. greenhouse/coldframe) or store in lightly damp sawdust for up to a month before planting.
The price is for 5 bare-root divisions. Each one will become a plant.
