Height: 50-70cm

Spacing: 50cm

Bloom period: December-April if you keep harvesting them. Shorter stems are produced earlier in the season, then the second wave of flowering stems is longer. Wait until several flowers on each stem have been pollinated and begun to form seeds before picking. The star shaped flowers are whimsical and breezy in a bouquet, but do have a bit of a funny smell! Plants can be tricky to start from collected or bought seed, but they sometimes self-seed beneath the plants. Mine grows well in full sun, but the plants also tolerate part shade.

It can be propagated by division.

Supplied in August as dormant bare-rooted plant divisions with a little soil/sawdust and wrapped in moist paper. Plant straight away in warmer climates, or pot up in a sheltered spot (e.g. greenhouse/coldframe) or store in lightly damp sawdust for up to a month before planting.

The price is for 5 bare-root divisions. Each one will become a plant.
